CIVIS

WeUpAcademy CIVIS programs are designed to teach students how the world works, to empower them to participate in democratic processes, and to improve their future readiness.

Through the CIVIS programs, students develop their writing, communicating, and critical thinking abilities. They build strategies and habits, solve problems, and lay a solid foundation for higher education and professional growth.

There are multiple aspects to any academic interest, and competitive students tend to be able to answer the following questions well:

1. What is it about the work involved in a field – such as lab work in chemistry, or interviewing people in anthropology – that draws you to it?
2. What is the impact of your academic interest that you care about the most?
3. What about the subject of your academic interest makes it so appealing to you?
4. What are the shortcomings or gaps that you believe exist in the current way in which research or work is being conducted in the field of your academic interest?

Clear academic interests tend to correlate with a deep enough understanding of a field to demonstrate what one wants to do with it.

These weekly small-group classes include live question and answer sessions, one-on-one meetings, assigned homework with individual feedback, all aim to develop comprehension and analytical skills required in junior and senior high schools.

Small-Group Classes
Challenged to divide your time between specific activities? No worries! Take advantage of our expertise and small-class size, create learning experiences with our engaging curriculum at a time that best-fit your schedule. We offer virtual classes for small groups taught by experienced instructors.

Working with fewer students strengthens the instructor-student relationship, encourages students to build confidence, and promotes an interest in friendships. Individualized attention ensures students' learning needs are well supported.

How to build your own AP classes?
Small groups consist of at least 8 students. You may form your own group; or reach out to us at info@weupacademy.com or via WeChat wechat to form a group for you. Students with compatible schedules, similar interests and age, will be matched with an experienced instructor in your selection of subject-matter, and your class is ready to begin.

Step One: Your first step is to reach out to us at info@weupacademy.com or on WeChat. We will be happy to address your questions and concerns about our programs.

Step Two: Provide us with a list of class times that works for you or your group. If you don’t have a group yet, reach out to us and you might be invited to join a group. Students will then be paired with an experienced instructor using less of a “one size fits all” approach to create a less stressful learning experience based on our curriculum.

Step Three: Once the class begins, you will be given support to access student accounts and much more! Please contact us for more information.
